Aspen Ladd began her journey into combat sports at the young age of fourteen. She was trained in boxing, kickboxing wrestling, and BJJ. She made her debut as an amateur at the age of 18 at WCFC against Jaimee Nievera. Ladd became more confident after the win and fought 3 bouts in Ultimate Reno Combat. Her opponents were all defeated by the start of the round. Ladd returned to WCFC and beat Leslie Rodriguez via unanimous decision. Aspen defeated Silvia Babaeghian, Maddy Simmons and Cynthia Calvillo before facing Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 Cynthia beat Aspen to defeat her in a unanimous decision, putting an ominous mark on her records in her amateur. Ladd bounced back from defeat in the final by beating Roma Pawelek in Tuff-N'-Uff, bringing her record up to 8-1. Aspen became a professional in 2015. Aspen signed with Invicta FC and made her debut. She faced Ana Carolina Vidal at Invicta FC 11 and dominated her in the first round to win a TKO. Invicta 16 saw her rise up to Bantamweight after winning her battle with Amanda Cooper by armbar in the second round. Aspen used the superior techniques she learned from wrestling to take on McGill. She ended her bout via the TKO (3rd round) (elbows, punches). Aspen was then in a fight with Jessica Hoy in Invicta FC 18 at weight of catchweight (138.1lb), as Ladd was unable to reach her weight. However, Aspen was able to dominate Hoy. She won with a TKO after the second round. Invicta FC 28 was her last bout for the organization. Invicta FC 22 saw Sijara Eubanks be defeated in a unanimous verdict. Aspen Ladd debuted in the UFC in the 118th UFC Fight Night 118, against Lina Langsberg. She dominated Lina and pounded her with a ground-and-pound in the second round to secure a TKO victory. The next time she fought Tonya Evinger at UFC 229, her victory was more spectacular. Ladd finished Evinger in the first round and got an outstanding performance bonus. Invicta FC, a rematch of UFC Fight Night dos Anjos and Lee the fight was between Sijara-Eubanks to win her first major fight. The victory of Ladd was a unanimous victory, as well as the Fight of the Night award came to the two fighters. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie stopped Ladd's winning streak with just 16 seconds. in the 3rd round on UFC at ESPN 7, she defeated Yana Kunitskaya. In a match that was a replacement to UFC, Norma Dumont was her opponent. The decision was made unanimously in her favor.
